Well, if you like a game of Checkers, then try this game out. In addition to being fun, playing against other people make it that much more challenging.Logging in
First click on the game display to the left with your mouse, then type in a username, and a password. If you are a new player make something up, but be sure to remember your password so you can play again and improve your score!
Starting a game
To the left you will see a list of players waiting to play battleships, they're rating is shown next to their name. Click a name to challenge that person to a game. If there is noone else currently waiting to play, you can choose to play a computer opponent instead by clicking the button at the bottom of the screen.
Playing the game
To win the game, you must capture or trap all your opponents pieces. Pieces can only move diagonally. If there are no enemy pieces to capture you can move a piece 1 square diagonally forwards. If however one of your pieces is adjacent to an enemy, and there is a space behind the enemy piece, you must jump over the enemy diagonally to capture it. (Even if you would rather make another move). If you capture an enemy piece, and there are further captures which you can make with the same piece you must move it again. If a piece reaches the opposite side of the board it is 'crowned'. It now behaves like before, except it can also move diagonally backwards, making it much more powerful. The game is automatically declared a draw if there are 40 rounds with no captures, or promotions.
Chatting to other players
To talk to other players, either in the waiting-room or during the actual game just type the text in on your keyboard and press enter. This will then appear on everyone elses screens, (so please keep it polite!) If you are in the waiting room and want to send a message to just one person, without others being able to read it, you need to type 'tell' followed by the username followed by the 'message'. For example: tell bob hello.
