PUZZLE FIGHTER II - TURBO
Instructions and Help

Remember Columns? Multi-colored gems (normal gems) will drop from the top of the screen. Try to arrange these gems in groups of their own color. When they match up both vertically and horizontally, they will turn into larger power gems which have more power and give you more points. To destroy, or break, these gems, use the circular shaped crash gems. These look much like miniature cd's of different colors. By placing a crash gem on top or to the side of normal gems you will break all the gems of that color that are touching each other. Each time you destroy gems, counter gems will appear on your opponent's screen. These gems are colored but have a number written in the center of them. This number represents the number of normal gems which you or your opponent must stack on your screens before the counter gems turn into normal gems. Crash gems will have no effect on counter gems until they turn into normal gems. The larger the amount of gems and power gems that you destroy at one time the larger the number of counter gems that appear on your opponent's screen. If you let your gems pile up to the top of the screen, you lose the game.

Normal Gems
These are the multi-colored gems that fall during normal game play. Counter gems will turn into normal gems after you have stacked the required number of normal gems.

Power Gems
These are formed by stacking more than 4 normal gems of the same color in squares and rectangles. They can be as large as you can make them, and the bigger they are the larger the number of counter gems that are dropped on your opponent's screen when you break them.

Crash Gems
Crash gems are the circular shaped gems which break all gems of a like color that they come in contact with. Try to link lines of same-colored gems to create a huge chain-reaction of broken gems. This will drop lots of Counter Gems on your opponent.

Counter Gems
These are the gems that are dropped on your screen when your opponent breaks a large number of gems. They have a colored number on the side of them. This number indicates how many normal gems you must stack before the counter gems convert to normal gems. When they do change, they will become the color of the number. The pattern that the counter gems drop in is determined by your character. To counteract some of these counter gems before they fall, drop a crash gem on the largest number of gems possible. Each gem you break before the counter gems drop decreases the number of counter gems that will fall.
